Washington D.C.

Crazy weather in Georgetown.
Standard a biergarten with the best fresh made donuts by a cute boy.
Dared to jump in the fountain.
Families enjoying themselves at the Washington Harbour fountain during sunset.

I was raised in the suburbs of Maryland about 15 minutes outside of Washington D.C. (we call it the DMV).  To be able to go home and have access to such a beautiful city is a blessing.  D.C. is constantly changing so at times I feel like a tourist in my hometown.  Luckily, I have great friends who are always in the know with the new and locals' favorite spots.  There is too much to do so if you're visiting D.C. for the first time, I recommend a week to soak in the museums, monuments, and restaurants.  I wanted to share a few snaps I took during my short trip home.  I'm grateful to be able to go home to our nation's capital a few times a year.  Happy Birthday, America!

Spring Fling

I love this dress by Stella & Jamie; it's perfect for spring and summer.  What I love the most is that it's appropriate for almost any occasion.  You can throw a blazer over it during the day with some flats then slip into some fun heels to transform your look for a night out.  It's flirty and fun without revealing too much.  Perfect for that special date or girls-night-out!

For those who aren't familiar with Stella & Jamie; I love them.  They are based out of Los Angeles and their clothes compliment every type of body.  April Mun, the owner and designer, is so kind and talented.  I'll be featuring their clothes and accessories a lot on my blog.  I love supporting local designers--and when you know they are great people--it's a bonus.

Coachella is about the fashion as much as it is the music.  I love the "anything goes" spirit of the festival.  You can be as free and expressive as you'd like--so have fun!

I went to Coachella for the first time last weekend and had such a great time.  I went up with one of my best friends, Taraji P. Henson for the day to see the Wu Tang Clan perform.  I've been a big fan of Wu Tang for so long and it was an even bigger bonus to find out how nice they are.  We were able to watch the entire performance from the stage so I was able to capture some amazing pictures of the crowd, and their energy. Wu Tang's performance was backed by a full orchestra--and they killed it.   If you're headed out to Coachella this weekend--have a fantastic time!

*Tip: It's scorching hot during the day and chilly in the evening.  I'd bring a jacket and sunglasses for the evening since it can get pretty windy.  We got caught in a sandstorm so be prepared for that too.
